Generating more income at your club can be achieved by attracting and retaining golf visitors. It needs a planned and sustained approach to take in all aspects of marketing, customer relationship, service and customer care.

The challenge for golf clubs is to keep golf visitors coming, enjoying themselves and generating revenue for clubs. Continuously attracting golf visitors needs the product and service quality to be high and exceed golfers’ expectations. Many golf clubs need to understand better what golfers want in order to realise this potential.
How can On The Tee help your Golf Club?
Like golf itself, On The Tee will help you make the most of your assets - think of it as a stroke-saver designed especially for your club. It is a Visitor Development Programme that will focus on the way your club welcomes and looks after visitors, as their needs are often very different to the needs of your members. The result will be higher revenue.
On The Tee will help Clubs attract additional visiting golfers, deliver increased revenue and improve the quality of the visitor experience. Ten clubs in Scotland have already participated in On The Tee and there have been a lot of happy customers.
Why use On The Tee?
Endorsed by the Scottish Golf Union, On The Tee has been developed to support golf clubs understand the needs and expectations of their visitors.
The programme is tailored to meet the needs of your club. It will focus on your club's ambitions to improve the visitor experience.
Participating in On The Tee, your club will benefit from a better understanding how to welcome visitors to your club and identify practical ways to adapt services to meet golfers increasing expectations and to give you a competitive edge in the market.
On The Tee is a hands on facilitated workshop with your team(s) responsible for managing enquiries and converting them into a confirmed bookings or welcoming visitors to your club.
In the workshop we will work with you to review:
- Who your visitors are and where they are coming from
- Your approach to customer care and service
- What is your compelling proposition when you are promoting your club to your visitors
- Explore how you can maximise your return on investment by working collaboratively with other local tourism businesses
From the workshop, we will guide you to develop a Visitor Action Plan for 2013 and beyond, giving you the tools of the trade to capture those golf pounds.
There will support for you during implementation, and for a further 6 months. The On The tee team will be available to meet, talk by phone, communicate by email - for you to access information, advice or just to use our team as a sounding board for exploring ideas on increasing revenue.
And when you have your plan complete, we will invite you to facilitated workshops to explore specific and relevant themes e.g. collaborative marketing and how to package with partners, revenue management for golf clubs, how to maximise revenue from your tee times – the tricks of the hotel trade will be shared with you.
Get involved
On The Tee is limited to 20 participating clubs* and is currently only available to clubs within the Scottish Enterprise region. There is a nominal charge of £500 per club - the overall value of the programme is worth £3000 to your club.
Participation by your team members can include your Club Secretary, the Golf Professional, Catering Manager, Captain - in fact any of the team who directly support delivering customer excellence.
